Boardman - Dorothy M. Benson, 100, died Sunday evening, September 29, 2013 at her residence.

Dorothy was born June 13, 1913 in Youngstown, a daughter of Jasper and Alice Littlewood Pomeroy.

She worked at three local steel mills throughout the area before being employed at Strouss Department Store where she retired after 29 years of service. A dedicated member of the Mahoning Presbyterian Church, Dorothy loyally attended church every Sunday. She loved bowling, playing bingo, and traveling to Texas, Kansas and Missouri to visit her daughter Carole and husband Dan. Dorothy cherished her family, spending time with her grandchildren and having picnics at her brother's house.

Dorothy was fortunate to find the love of her life two times, first to her husband Christopher Borowski, second to husband, Thorsen "Swede" Benson.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Carole (Dan) Rennie of Boardman; seven grandchildren, Beth(Tammy), Tim (Sara), Mike, Scott (Stacey), Paul (Tia), Lisa (Mark), and Michelle (Pete); twenty great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Hagens;one son, Donald Borowski; two brothers, Erwin Littlewood and John Charles Pomeroy; five sisters, Emily Nagle, Mable Ward, Grace Kelly, Gladyis Poloyci, and Eleanor Woodworth; and one grandson, Mark Borowski.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 5:30pm at the Mahoning Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Byerly and Rev.Bob Dayton officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Mahoning Presbyterian Cemetery.
