POLAND- Doris Elaine Miller, 77, of Chesterton Drive, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Hospice House.
Miss Miller was born January 1, 1932 in Poland, a daughter of Leon and Mable Mosley Miller. She was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1950 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and attended Youngstown College. Doris worked as a real estate agent for Burgan Real Estate for over 20 years, before retiring in 2001.
She was a lifelong member of the Poland United Methodist Church, where she was a member of its Singles Club. She loved to bowl and golf and belonged to numerous leagues. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends on Saturday nights. Doris was also a member of the Youngstown-Columbiana Association of Realtors.
She is survived by two sisters, Leona (Don) Simpkins and Peggy Moore, both of Poland; four nieces, Terry (Ray) Scharrer, Barbara Moore, and Cindy Moore, all of Poland and Kathleen (Tom) Joyce of New Springfield; one nephew, John (Karen) Simpkins, of Youngstown; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; and a dear friend, Beryl Neiheisel of Poland.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Reedy; a brother, Robert S. Miller; a niece, Jeannie Shiminsky; a nephew, James Reedy; and a brother-in- law, Robert A. Moore.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
