Poland - Doris L. McDonald, 82, died Sunday morning, June 17, 2012 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Mrs. McDonald was born June 25, 1929 in Lordstown, a daughter of Elwood and Twila (Eminhizer) Stauffer.
She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was a homemaker.
Mrs. McDonald was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed bowling, golfing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, John McDonald, whom she married February 16, 1950 at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, died February 19, 1984. She is survived by her son, John (Claudia) McDonald of Marblehead; five daughters, Judy (Dennis) Brenner of Boardman, Peggy (George) McNab, Sandy (Gary) Susko, Colleen (Dan) Cooper, and Tricia (Steve) Garthwaite, all of Poland; two brothers, Don (Nancy) Stauffer of Niles and Ed (Evelyn) Stauffer of Port Matilda, PA; sister-in-law, Eleanor Stauffer of Niles; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Helen Stauffer; and three brothers, infant Harold, Miles, and Ken Stauffer.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Interment took place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mrs. McDonald's name to St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers, Ohio 44471 or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
The family would like to thank Masternick Memorial Health Center and Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland for the wonderful care that they gave to Doris.
