Struthers - Donna J. Townsend, 68, died Friday afternoon, December 27, 2013 at University Hospital.
Mrs. Townsend was born August 31, 1945 in Youngstown, a daughter of James O. and Marie Russo Kesler.
She was a 1964 graduate of Struthers High School. Donna first worked for Republic Steel and later as a seamstress for Anatomical Concepts and Toula's Bridal.
Donna's hobbies included sewing, cross-stitching, going on motorcycle rides with her husband, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and previously worked for the Holiday Bowl in Struthers, where she also played in several leagues.
In addition to her mother, Marie, of Struthers, Donna is survived by her husband, John D. Townsend, whom she married March 20, 1982; three daughters, Machelle Rinko of Secaucus, NJ, Robin Schutz of Indianapolis, IN, and Jeanne George of Struthers; six grandchildren, Frank Jr. and Amanda Rinko, Kaitlynn and Adam Schutz, Isaiah Graves, and Gionna George; and two great-grandchildren, Xander Allphin and Lilliana Bachinger.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, James; and her sister, Elaine Schall.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
