Donna E. Hardie, 77 Poland- Donna E. Hardie, 77, of 37 Delaware died Wednesday morning at her home. Mrs. Hardie was born September 15, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Leo and B Thrasher Taaffe. She was a life-long resident of Poland. She was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and attended Youngstown College. She was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, taught nursery school and conducted a class for the mentally challenged. She was a member and past president of the MCCRC, a member of the MCCRC Parents Activity Group, past board member of the Beeghly Day Camp, a member of the Astros Club, Wilson Wives, Mohawk Ladies Golf League and the Reserve Run âa�A"G.A.L.S.âa�A� Her husband George I Hardie, whom she married in 1947 died in 1975. Besides her mother B of Poland, she leaves one daughter Terry Lynn (Leif) Carlsen of Ashland; two sons, Thomas George (Jo) Hardie of Myrtle Beach and Ted James Hardie of Poland; two sisters, Marilyn Morrison of Poland and Jere Boyer of Lorain; one brother, Richard Taaffe of Austintown; four grandchildren, Shelly Hardie, Jay Hull, William Stanley and Chris Hull; two great-grandsons, Kenny and Aaron and many nieces and nephews. Besides her father and husband, one sister, Carol Jean Hetrick preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. If desired, the family request memorial tributes to go to the Golden String, Inc., 12 S. Phelps Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44503.
