Donald J. Yallech, Sr., 80 Struthers- Donald J. Yallech, Sr., 80, of 137 Grimm Heights died Tuesday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Yallech was born October 18, 1921 in Quaker Falls, Pennsylvania, a son of Stanko and Frances Jerela Yallech. He lived in Struthers most of his life. He graduated January 1940 from Struthers High School. He owned and operated along with his wife Jennie, Yallechâa�a��s United Family Foods in the Nebo section of Struthers. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Struthers Knights of Columbus No. 4224, Struthers VFW Post #3538 and the S.N.P.J. He served in the Army during World War II in the China-Burma-India Theatre with the 446th Engineer Base Depot Company receiving the bronze star. His wife the former Jennie Brkich, whom he married June 22, 1946 died March 7, 1998. He leaves two daughters, Frances Yallech of Struthers and Joan Mountford of Youngstown; one son, Donald Yallech, Jr. of New York; two sisters, Mary Germanovich of Struthers and Catherine Sarosy of Cleveland; one brother, John Yallech of Santa Barbara, California; three grandchildren, Kimberly Johnston, David and Robert Buranich and four great-grandchildren. One sister Frances Kosek preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Church. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
