North Lima - Donald M. Weaver, 83, died June 23, 2009 at Hospice House in Poland.
Mr. Weaver was born April 9, 1926 in Ellwood City, the son of Percy and Alice Fosnaught Weaver.
He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Geneva College. Mr. Weaver was a World War II Army Veteran serving in Okinawa, Japan. He was a sales engineer for Stewart Warner-Alemite Division.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Poland Presbyterian Church and a dues paying member of the Poland Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golf, attending auctions, big band music, spending time at Gemco Aviation, and playing the trumpet.
He is survived by his sister, June Gahagan of Ellwood City; two daughters, Michelle (Rocco) Bova of Lowellville and Kimberly (Jim Erskine) Weaver of Poland, a granddaughter, Daniela Bova; and two nephews, Ronald and Barry Goehring.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce L. Weaver and his brother-in-law, Harry Gahagan.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at the Poland Presbyterian Church, where family and friends will be received from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Irene Weaver, Walter Passarello DO, Park Vista, Hospice House and their staff for their compassionate care and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mr. Weavers's name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514.
