Donald Turner, 88
BOARDMAN - Services will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Donald Turner, 88. He passed away Friday at his home.
Mr. Turner was born May 29, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Agnes Connell Turner.
He was 1945 graduate of East High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former member of the Boardman United Methodist Church.
He had worked for Youngstown Sheet & Tube for 30 years, beginning in the mail room and ending his career as the assistant manager of the flat roll products. After retiring, Donald was the general manager of Turner Steel Service for 20 years.
Don was a people person and enjoyed politics, history, movies and music. He got a great deal of enjoyment maintaining a meticulous lawn at his home.
His wife, the former May B. Stevenson, whom he married Sept. 16, 1950, died June 13, 2007.
Surviving him are his children, Daniel S. (Mary Ann) Turner of Boardman and Karen A. Turner of Dallas; five grandchildren , Daniel S. (Roklyn) Turner of Boardman, Adam ³A.J.² (Sara) Turner, and Anne-Marie Turner, both of Poland, Justin (Amanda) Turner of Boardman and Sarah Turner of Nashville, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren, Rocco, Dante, Myla, Reagan, and Johnny; also, a sister, Jeanette Rowe of Boardman.
Preceding him in death, besides his wife and parents, are three brothers, Sidney, James and Robert Turner; and a grandson, Jason Turner.
Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
