Glendale - Donald R. Seidel Sr., 64 of Glendale, AZ, formerly of Poland, died September 17, 2015 in St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. He was born January 4, 1951 in Youngstown, son of the late Howard and Iris Kuhlman Seidel.
He was a 1970 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and was recently inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Don taught art in the Glendale Elementary School District for 15 years then went on to teach high school art in the Deer Valley Unified School District. He was also a swim coach at Barry Goldwater High School in Deer Valley School District. Don was a member of Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria, AZ. He was an accomplished artist and was the life of the party. He was the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. Don had a quirky sense of humor, which made him a favorite of his nieces and nephews and his children's friends. His friends meant everything to him. He loved coming back to visit and attend local events.
He leaves his loving wife, Debbie Fiumara Seidel, whom he married on May 22, 1982; his son, Donald (Stephanie) Seidel Jr. of Glendale, AZ; daughter, Elisa (Logan) Baker of Corpus Christi, TX; granddaughter, LaReah; two sisters, Linda Salazar and Peggy Dingess; two brothers, Howard "Butch" (Susan) Seidel and Robin (Jennifer) Seidel and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 7pm at River of Life Ministries, 65 Palestine Ave. Youngstown, OH 44512, with Pastor Ron Elkins officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5-7pm on Wednesday at the church.
