Dominic L. Murphy, 80 Lowellville- Dominic L. Murphy, 80, of Ron Joy Nursing Home formerly of W. Wood Street, Lowellville, died Thursday evening at the nursing home. Mr. Murphy was born May 19, 1921 in Campbell, a son of Bruno and Rose Zupp Murphy. He lived in Lowellville most of his life. He was employed by the A&P Warehouse for 37 years and then owned and operated Genoâa�a��s Restaurant from 1977 until 1992 when it was destroyed by fire. He also was a school bus driver for Lowellville Schools. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, American Legion Post 247 and served as Councilman for the Village of Lowellville. His wife the former Carmel Coppola whom he married September 25, 1945 died June 12, 1986. He leaves one son, Gene Murphy of Lowellville; three sisters, Katherine Puhalla of Boardman, Phyllis Notareschi of Poland and Carmel Morris of Youngstown; two brothers, Frank Murphy of Youngstown and Thomas Murphy of Liberty and two granddaughters, Amanda and Alissa Murphy. Two brothers Anthony and Joseph Murphy preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be Monday, 10:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville and 10:30 AM at Holy Rosary Church. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home.
