POLAND - Dolores Fauls Sharp, 82, of Highland Avenue passed away on March 8, 2011 after a courageous battle with renal cancer.
Mrs. Sharp was born April 27, 1928 in Struthers, the daughter of Gerald and Dorothy Bennett Fauls and resided in Poland for most of her life.
Mrs. Sharp was a Jan. of 1947 graduate of Struthers High School. She worked for Reynolds and Bookout and later helped her husband open his own advertising agency, Design Associates in Boardman.
Mrs. Sharp enjoyed reading, sewing, doing crafts, and volunteering for different church committees. She was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church. She was also a founding member of the Poland Bluebells Garden Club.
She leaves her husband, Robert E. Sharp, whom she married on May 27, 1949; three daughters, Janice Sharp of Struthers, Joyce Ionese, and Jill (Robert) Simon, both of Poland; five grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Ionese Templeton, Robert, Jacob, Rebecca, and Bailey Simon; and a great-grandson, Robert Alexander Simon. She also leaves a sister, Beverly Raybuck of Struthers; and a brother, Edward "Ben" Fauls of Cape Coral, Florida.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Fauls, Jr.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Grant and Rev. Susan Holley officiating. There will be no calling hours held before the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Poland United Methodist Church's Trustees Fund, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
