North Lima - Diane Rae Burkey, 71, of North Lima, died Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown.
Diane was born July 11, 1940 in Youngstown, a daughter of Eugene and June Dailey Burkey.
She was a 1957 graduate of Lowellville High School and was a homemaker. Diane attended the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima. She enjoyed her monthly outings with the "girls from school" and the DORCAS Circle of the church. Diane volunteered at the church, loved to shop, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
Diane leaves her two daughters, Richelle (Frank) McMichael of Petersburg and Colleen Christie of New Springfield; one son, Kevin Burkey of Poland; one brother Paul Burkey of New Middletown; one sister, Kathleen Kolitech of Boardman; eight grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Jernigan, Ashley and Stephanie McMichael, Kendra Burkey-Evans, Brandon and Tyler Burkey, Donna McCreary, and Bobby Jo Burkey; and four great-grandchildren, Gunner, Abel, David, and William.
Besides her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lee Burkey Jr., and great-grandchild, Bobby Lee Burkey III.
Services will be held Sunday, 2:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville with Rev. Ralph Edwards officiating. Interment will follow Monday at Lowellville Cemetery in Lowellville.
Friends will be received Sunday from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
