Salem - Diane "Dee" Bellfield, 65, passed away Friday evening, November 13, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center after battling cancer.
Diane, affectionately known by many as "Dee," was born August 24, 1950 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Donald and Bernice Shones Damman.
She was a 1968 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. After graduation, she first worked for General Extrusions and later for Edward J. DeBartolo as a receptionist, AT&T in the phone center, and South Range Schools as a crossing guard and in their treasurer's office. Most recently, Diane was working for MCCTC as an aide and doing clerical work.
A lifelong and dedicated member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown, Diane was both baptized and married in the church. She married Larry Bellfield on May 22, 1971 and they celebrated their 44th anniversary this year.
She was also a member of the church's Women's Renewal Group and a member and past president of the Tri-County Credit Union Board for many years. Diane's hobbies included crocheting, knitting, casino trips, line and swing dancing, bird watching, and traveling. She especially loved riding on the back of her husband Larry's Harley, taking countryside rides, and spending cherished times with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, Brian (Christine) Bellfield of Longmont, CO and Jill (Jeff) Janda of Randolph; three grandchildren, Amaya Bellfield and Jewel and Jenson Janda; two sisters, Cynthia Puli of Youngstown and Nancy (Alan) Walkama of Salem; and three nieces, Melinda Puli of Austintown, Abigail Walkama, and Allie Walkama, both of Salem.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Lorraine Bellfield.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Msgr. Kenneth Miller and Fr. Stephen Popovich officiating. Interment will follow in Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
