Diana J. Carney

July 9, 1946 — November 10, 2024

Poland - Diana J. Carney, 78, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 10, 2024, at the Inn at Poland Way.

Diana was born July 9, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Frank and Drusolina "Daisy" (Gentile) Annichine.

A lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, Diana attended Struthers High School. On September 26, 1973, Diana married Patrick F. Carney, and they shared 49 years of marriage before his passing on November 1, 2022. Diana dedicated her time and love to being a full-time homemaker, wife, and mother. Her home was always open to visitors as they were warmly welcomed in and met with her gracious hospitality. Diana was always eager to prepare a meal for anyone in need and many were the lucky recipients of her famous pepperoni rolls.

Some of her favorite pastimes included doing crossword puzzles while sipping on a good cup of tea, flower gardening, writing poetry, cooking, and baking. Diana also found joy in crocheting, a skill taught to her by her mom, and the many weekly visits with her mom.

Diana leaves to carry on her memory, her children, James D. James of Naples, FL, Dawn Blair of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Diana (Brad) Kauffman of Sewickley, PA; siblings, Mary Lou Skoloda of Struthers, Lucy (Lewis) Bezjak of Struthers, and Michael (Janet) Annichine of Poland; and grandchildren, Austin and Samantha Blair.

In addition to her parents and husband, Diana was preceded in death by her siblings, Emilie (Rocco) Yemma, Frank "Sonny" (Annette) Annichine, Sr., and brother-in-law, Paul Skoloda.

Private services were held for the family at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Interment followed at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
