Boardman - Dera Belle Griffith, 92 of Shepherd of the Valley, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the nursing home.
Mrs. Griffith was born April 6, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of George and Mary O'Blenis McWilliams, and was a life long area resident.
She was a 1936 graduate of Chaney High School, and was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church. She worked for many years salesperson for Strouss in the Jewelry Department, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Ladies of the Golden Eagles and loved watching YSU and OSU football. She was a long time volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and also volunteered for many other agencies.
She leaves a daughter Mary Lou Newman of Williamsburg, VA and a son James (Pat) Griffith of Boardman, two grandchildren Elizabeth Cook and James Griffith, and 1 great-grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William McWilliams
