Boardman - Dennis Paul Kredel, 55 of Boardman, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Kredel was born May 27, 1955 in Youngstown, a son of Donald and Elizabeth Ehrman Kredel.
Dennis was a 1973 graduate of Chaney High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany. He was a sharpshooter, and had received the National Defense Service Medal, and the Mechanic / Operator Badge. Dennis a member of Boy Scouts of America, and was an Eagle Scout. He worked for United Telephone in Warren, Tel-Plus, then worked as an Admininistrative Assistant for Youngstown State University for 23 years in Telephone Services. Dennis loved fishing especially in Canada, NASCAR, and an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Yankees.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 20 years, the former Maureen Mehley, whom he married September 29, 1990, his daughter, Megan Kredel of Boardman; a sister Debra (John) Kovalan of Vermilion; and a brother Donald (Beth) Kredel of Youngstown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and his three dogs, Taffy, Snickers, and Lucie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Cunningham Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm.
