Struthers - Delores J. Balogh, 80, of Struthers, died Sunday morning, March 12, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Delores, affectionately known as Dee, was born December 18, 1936 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Mary Holeski Hatala.
She was raised in Campbell and graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1955. Dee worked as a long distance operator for Ohio Bell and then as a cafeteria worker for Struthers City Schools for over 25 years. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and its' Altar and Rosary Society.
Dee enjoyed attending her monthly breakfast club meetings with her high school friends, dancing and her trips to Mountaineer. She especially cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph Balogh, whom she married April 4, 1959 died July 5, 2009. Dee leaves her daughter, Joyce (Bob) Czopur of Salem; son, Joey (Shelly Matijasic) Balogh of Struthers; two grandchildren, Morgan and Zachary Czopur; sister, Mitzi (Tony) Quattro of Struthers; brother, John Hatala of Youngstown; and her sister-in-law, Betty Kern of Boardman.
A prayer service will be held Friday, March 17 at 9:15 a.m. at the Davis Becker Funeral Home in Boardman followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Entombment will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
