Deanna Marie Thomas, 65 Chesapeake, VA. - Deanna Marie Thomas, 65, of The Meadows died Thursday afternoon at the nursing home. Mrs.Thomas was born January 31, 1938 in Youngstown, a daughter of Nicholas and Anna Burner Baer. She was raised in Youngstown and lived in Poland until moving to Chesapeake in 1998. She was a 1956 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and had worked in the furniture department of J.C. Penneyâa�a��s, Southern Park Mall. In Chesapeake, she was a telephone operator for QVC Shopping Network. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake and a former member of Holy Family in Poland. Her husband Donald C. Thomas whom she married January 25, 1958, died January 4, 2001. She leaves two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) McKee and Anna Marie (Joseph) Miller both of Chesapeake; two sons, Donald Thomas of Highland Heights, Ohio and Richard Thomas of Chesapeake, Virginia; one brother, David Baer of Boardman and eight grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband one sister Eleanor McClure and one brother Robert Baer preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1:00 P.M. at the Cunningham Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where friends may call from 10:45 until 12:45 PM at the funeral home, Tuesday. The family request memorial tributes to go to the American Cancer Society.
