David Geier

Struthers - David Jerome Geier, 47, of Struthers, died Tuesday August 20, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Geier was born March 15, 1972 in Youngstown, a son of Jerome and Mary (Almasy) Geier and had been a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1990 graduate of Struthers High School and attended Youngstown State University. David worked as a bar manager and worked as an agent for American General Insurance. He also worked  for O’Reilly’s Auto Parts and was a co-owner of W.B.W. Wrestling. He enjoyed sporting events, playing golf, attending Struthers football games and playing cards. David was also a member of the Poland Council of the Knights of Columbus.

He leaves his sister, Kathy (Eric) Altman of Irwin, Pa.; a nephew, Josh Altman of Irwin, Pa.; his aunt, Rita (Fred) Pirkey of Struthers; and his close friends, David Venerose, Ray Tamburro, Joe Catanzariti, Ricky Carna, Stephanie Volpini-Hann, Derek Scavnicky, and Michael Cardarelli.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday August 28, 2019 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel in Youngstown with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Carigilo officiating. Friends may call from 9-9:45 AM prior to the Mass at the Basilica.
