Struthers - David R. Dunn, 63, died Thursday evening, June 30, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a five month illness.
David was born October 20, 1952 in Youngstown, a son of the late Francis and Dorothy Lukes Dunn.
A life-long resident of Struthers, David was a 1972 graduate of Struthers High School. He worked in the shipping department for Weatherbee Coats Inc., for 18 years until their closing. He then worked for Schwebels Baking Company for two years. After Schwebels, David dedicated his time to taking care of his mother and father. David was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher.
David enjoyed buffet restaurants, Christmas decorations, and music from the sixties, his favorite being the Four Seasons.
David leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Beth Dunn of Poland; two nieces, Robin (Matt) Grote of Westerville and Rochelle Hurt of Cincinnati; and two great nieces; Nora and Lucy Grote.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother Francis Dunn, Jr.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday 10:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
