David C. Peterson, 70, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Canton, Ohio and Edinburg, Pennsylvania died Monday morning September 18, 2017 in Fort Myers. He was born December 27, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of David and Renia (Howard) Peterson. He lived in the area most of his life.
He was a 1965 graduate of Mohawk High School and was a Marine Corp. veteran of the Vietnam War. David was a retired Millwright for Commercial Intertech and had also retired from W.C.I. Steel in Warren.
He was a member of the V.F.W. in Navarre, Ohio and had been a lifetime member of Mahoning Sportsman Association.
Besides his wife, the former Ruth Kelly, whom he married in 1968, he leaves his daughter, Chris (Jimi) Dickens of Massillon, Ohio; his son, Greg Peterson of Edinburg, Pa; two grandchildren , Zachary and Joshua Dickens; two sisters, Marsha Luc of Lowellville, Ohio and Susan Buchanan of Edinburg , and two brothers, Russell of Naples, Florida and Keith of Lowellville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Peterson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday September 25, 2017 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visit www.beckerobits.com to send condolences.
