Pulaski - David Ray "Barney" Barnhart, 86 of Pulaski, Pennsylvania, died September 22, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Barnhart was born December 23, 1926 in Youngstown, son of Floyd and Margaret Pflugh Barnhar
He worked as maintenance foreman for Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV), retiring in 1984. He was a member of New Bedford Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII and Korean Conflict. He was a member of the LST Association.
Barney was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Dellinger, whom he married Aug. 23, 1947; two daughters, Linda (Tom) Smith of Mercer, PA and Rebecca (Don) Whistler of Girard; three sisters, Lila Mae (Russell) Burns of Muncie, IN, Loretta Butler of Howland, and Peggy Lou (Estil) Thornsberry of Niles; two grandchildren, Donald (Erin) Whistler Jr. of Girard and Joseph David (Melanie)Whistler of North Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Benjamin, and Parker.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Wayne Barnhart; and siblings Charles Reid Barnhart, Ralph Eugene Barnhart , Annabelle Lee Anderson, and L. Gary Barnhart.
There were will be a graveside service Friday at 11 AM at Crown Hill Memorial Park, 3966 Warren-Sharon Rd. in Vienna. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker in Struthers.
