Danile DiPiero

d. October 8, 2008

Boardman - Danile DiPiero, 51, of 28 N. Cadillac Drive in Boardman, died early Wednesday morning at the Hospice House after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Dan was born August 2, 1957 in L'Aquila, Province of Abruzzo, Italy, a son of Pasquale Giovanni and Anna Mattei DiPiero. He came to the United States as an infant and at the end of kindergarten returned to Italy. When Dan was 9 years old, his family returned to the States and later resided in Campbell. A 1976 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Dan received his driving certificate from TDDS in 1990 and in 2003 received his Cisco Networking Certificate. From 2002 until the present, Dan was a manager for Cold-Roll Steel Mill at Ferrous Metal Processing in Brooklyn, Ohio, a division of Ferragon Corporation. From 1976 until 2002, he was a roller for Cold Metal Products in Campbell. He had also worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer and for the last 10 years did taxes for friends and acquaintances. Dan was a member of Steel Workers Local #3047 and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Youngstown. Dan's knowledge of computers came naturally. He was an excellent photographer, and he was a Mustang, motorcycle, and dirt biking enthusiast. His prize car was a '77 Cobra. Being a teenager in the 70's, his choice of music was obviously Rock n' Roll, and his favorite artist was Ted Nugent. Dan leaves his wife, the former Laura L. Dear, whom he married April 26, 1986; his three children, Nina Ann, Calon June, and Devin Nunzio DiPiero, all at home; one sister, Norma (Michael) Beeson of Punta Gorda, FL; nephews, Kyle Finney, Gage Finney, Bart Freddo and Max Freddo; and great-nieces, Zoe Rae and Pyper Margaret. Besides his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his namesake and uncle, Father Don Danile DiPiero. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 18th at 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, with Rev. Msgr. Michael Cariglio officiating. Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 19th from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at their home, 28 N. Cadillac Drive, Boardman. Contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send condolences.
