Daniel E. Stevens

Girard- Daniel E. Stevens, 49, died July 6, 2016 due to an unusual down pour in which he apparently fought to control his motorcycle to protect his son Zak.

Daniel, affectionately known as Danny, was born February 21, 1967 in Vienna, a son of Daniel and Audrey Vestal Stevens.

He was a 1985 Mathews High School graduate. Growing up Danny worked on his parents farm where he developed his love of horses and animals. Early on in his career he was a laborer doing construction. Danny's last job was a mechanic at his father-in-laws shop Giura's Auto Service. He was a member of Paynes Corner Christian Church in Vienna.

Danny was involved in the Boy Scout Pack 40 out of Girard, where he was a past leader. He enjoyed gardening, camping, and motorcycling.

He thoroughly enjoyed anything with his boys from car shows, bike nights, and men's bible study.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mara Giura of Girard, whom he married Oct. 9, 1993; three sons, Zakree, Joshua, and Luke Stevens; father-in-law, Thomas Giura and mother-in-law, Shirley Giura of New Springfield; brother-in-law, Tommy Giura New Springfield; two sister-in-laws, Jill (Joe) DeRamo of Canfield, Rita (fiancé Andrew) Giura of Austintown; two brothers, David Stevens of Vienna and Rod (Joanna) Stevens of Folwer; his Uncle Al Stevens of Vienna; his stepmother, Patricia Stevens of Hartford; his aunt, Mary Pierce of Baxter, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6:30PM at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.

Friends and family will be received prior to the service from 4-6:15PM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made payable to the Daniel Stevens Memorial Fund at any Huntington Bank for his sons higher education.
