Daniel Austin Pershing

Daniel Austin Pershing, 70 Canfield- Daniel Austin Pershing, 70, of 8810 N. Palmyra Rd. died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mr. Pershing was born in Youngstown November 21, 1933, a son of Samuel and Mildred Portmas Pershing. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1951 graduate of Canfield High School and was Manager of Technical Service at Controlled Beverage. Mr. Pershing was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Smith Corners United Methodist Church. He enjoyed restoring automobiles and antique cars. His first wife, Donna Jean Pershing, whom he married May 29, 1954, died October 12, 2001. He leaves his wife, Sherry Pershing of Canfield ,whom he married October 9, 2003 ; one daughter, Darla (Mark) Avery of Canfield;one son, Brian (Marcia) Pershing of Ellsworth; one step-daughter, Michelle Dondelewski of Canfield; two sisters, Lee Etta Hooper of Rosemont, OH and Joy Berry of Niles; one brother, Robert Pershing of Satsuma, FL; six grandchildren; Amber, Holly, Jade, Jenna, Briana, and Austin. Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Pershing. A memorial service will be held at Smith Corners United Methodist Church at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
