Daniel D. Kautz, Jr. Boardman- Daniel D. Kautz Jr., age 83, of 4138 Oak Knoll Drive died Tuesday morning at Caprice Healthcare. Mr. Kautz was born October 20, 1922 in Youngstown, a son of Daniel & Gertrude Oâa�a��Dea Kautz. He was a life-long area resident. He was a 1941 graduate of South High School and owned and operated Kautz Heating & Air Conditioning Company and Madden Roofing. Mr. Kautz was a founding member, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Boardman Rotary Club. He was a member of Wick Lodge F & AM 481, a 32nd degree Mason of the Youngstown Scottish Rite, and a member of the Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland. He was a member of the former Odd Fellows of Struthers, and an organizer and charter member of the Youngstown Jaycees and a founding member of the Ohio Air Conditioning Contractors Association. Mr. Kautz was a member of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder. An Army veteran during World II, Mr. Kautz was a Technician 4th Grade of the 774th Tank Destroyers Battalion serving in the European Theater under General Patton. His wife, the former Opal Wire whom he married February 1, 1946, died March 31, 1995. He is survived by two sons, Daniel D. Kautz III, of Dallas Texas and James H. Kautz of Boardman; one sister, Emma Mason of Canfield; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by one brother, Henry G. Kautz. Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home where a Masonic service will be held at 8:00 PM.
