Daniel B. Fazzini

POLAND - Daniel B. Fazzini, 73, passed away peacefully Friday evening, Aug. 12, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa to his grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

Dan was born March 29, 1938, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a son of Louis and Anna Zittela Fazzini.
He was a 1956 graduate of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg. In 1960, he moved to Poland and would make his home there for the rest of his life. Throughout the course of Dan's career, he worked as a carpenter, cabinet maker, and a machinist. He also owned the Roman Galley Restaurant in East Palestine for several years.

When not working and spending time with his wife and family, you could find Dan in the air. His passion was flying, and along with several friends, they owned their own airplane. He was a member of The Comanche Flyers Inc. and the Faith Fellowship Church of God in Struthers. Dan was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed being in the kitchen.

He leaves his wife, the former Rebecca Amuso, whom he married Aug. 23, 1958; two daughters, Laura (Ted) Best of Sanford, Fla. and Lisa (Jim) Knutti of Austintown; son, Steven (Barbara) Fazzini of Youngstown; three sisters, Rosalie (Carl) Stemple of Parkersburg, W.Va., Ruth (Jim) Missonak of Wintersville, and Lucille Tamm of Royal Oak, Mich.; brother, Robert (Cleo) Fazzini of Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Katie and Karen Best, Daniel Fazzini, Jackie, Christian and Jamie Knutti, Kerrie (Chris) Rybicki and Jim (Jodi) Knutti Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Knutti and Gavin Rybicki.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Joan Fazzini, Loretta Collins, Mary Fazzini, and infant Elsie Ann Fazzini; and two brothers, Londy and Rudolph Fazzini.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.

Family and friends will be received today from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
