Daniel Francis Faraglia

Youngstown - Daniel Francis Faraglia, 79 of Youngstown, formerly of Lowellville, died Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 2, 1932 in Lowellville, a son of Daniel and Adeline Rossi Faraglia.
Mr. Faraglia was a 1950 graduate of Lowellville High School where he lettered in football and basketball. As a freshman in high school, he met the love of his life, the former Jean Braun, whom he married December 15, 1951. He was later entered into the Lowellville Football Hall of Fame, and servied two years in the United States Army. Dan loved all sports. He also enjoyed cooking, and spending time with his family and his four animals, Piper, Diamond, Rocky and Cuddles.
He had worked as a contract painter, then worked for the Youngstown Waste Water Plant, and retired as an inspector for the Youngstown Housing Authority for the City of Youngstown.
Dan is survived by his wife of 60 years, two sons Mark and Philip Faraglia Sr. both of Youngstown; two daughters Diane (Gerald) Marshall, and Rebecca Faraglia both of Youngstown; a sister, Rosalind Eggleston of Maryland;a beloved granddaughter, Melissa J. Faraglia, 4 grandsons, Daniel and Philip Faraglia Jr., and Kris and Chad Marshall; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Faraglia, two sisters, Lucille Rogers, and Mary-Margaret Tarica, a daughter-in-law Deborah Faraglia and his grandson, Gerald A. Marshall Jr.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville, and also Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:15 am.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Saturday at 10:30 AM with Fr. Nicholas Shori officiating. Interment will follow at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions my be sent to the family, in care of the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill Street, Lowellville OH 44436.
