Daniel M. Cooper

Poland - Daniel M. Cooper, 59 of Poland lost his short and brave battle with cancer Tuesday evening January 30th at Saint Elizabeth’s Boardman Health Center, with his family by his side.

Dan was born June 1st 1958 in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late Jack and Dorothy (Jacobson) Cooper.

Raised in Poland, Dan was a 1976 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and was diesel mechanic for Ohio Machinery for over 25 years. Dan had a real passion for dirt bikes and a long history with a 1970 Triumph GT6 Plus that he spent numerous hours working on. Dan also spent many years coaching The Poland Little Bulldogs football teams and numerous youth baseball teams which he took much pride in.

Dan leaves behind a daughter, Abbey Cooper of Poland and a son Clay Cooper of Poland and former wife Colleen Cooper of Poland; a brother John (Sue) Cooper Jr. of Poland; two sisters, Terri Luzik of Byron, GA and Dawna Cooper of Poland and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
