Daniel J. Carson

New Middletown - Daniel J. Carson, 87, died Friday evening, March 16, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Carson was born July 6, 1930 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Daniel and Margaret Williams Carson.

Daniel served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a bricklayer and worked in the maintenance department for the Ohio Turnpike Commission.

His wife, the former Janice C. Arkwright, whom he married May 5, 1961, died Sept. 5, 2012.

Daniel is survived by one son, Bob (Rhonda) Carson of New Middletown; three daughters, Maxine (Frank) Rendulic of Dayton, Margaret Carson of Youngstown and Danielle (Melissa) Hickman-Carson of Poland; son-in-law, Kurt (Jackie) Granger of Jacksonville, FL; daughter-in-law, Doreen Carson of Tyrone, GA; ten grandchildren, Dr. Courtney (Evan) Bartsch of Columbus, Allison (Brandon) Caldwell of Clayton, NC, Tiffany Carson of Indianapolis, IN, Janice, Frankie and Daniel Rendulic all of Dayton, Hillary (Dion) Sims of Dayton, Kristopher (Liz) Granger of Milwaukee, WI, Cassie (Jonathan) Tolin of Tyrone, GA, and Brittany (Shane) Phillips of Tyrone, GA; six great-grandchildren, Josephine, Colette, Brandon, Kayleigh, Camden, and Carson.

Besides his parents and wife, Daniel was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Granger; one son, Will Carson; and three sisters, Mary Jane Smith, Betty Lawn, and Joyce Rezenbrink.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.

Friends will be received Saturday, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
