DAN. L. ALLEN SR., 78, A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF THIS AREA, WENT ON TO BE WITH JESUS, ON MARCH 23, 2005. MR. ALLEN SERVED IN THE MERCHANT MARINES AND THE US ARMY DURING WWII AND THE KOREAN WAR. MR. ALLEN WAS A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN LEGION MR. ALLEN WAS A TRUCK DRIVER FOR 30 YEARS. HE WAS A FORMER MEMBER OF TEAMSTERS LOCALS, 377 IN YOUNGSTOWN, AND 261 IN NEW CASTLE, PENNSYLVANIA. HE RETIRED FROM WERNER CONTINENTAL LOCAL 92 IN CANTON, IN 1980. MR. ALLEN WAS A FORMER MEMBER AND TRUSTEE OF FAIRVIEW IMMANUAL BAPTIST CHURCH. HE WAS A MEMBER OF STRUTHERS FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS FATHER, GILBERT B. ALLEN AND MOTHER, THELMA BENSINGER ALLEN. THREE BROTHERS GEORGE, GILBERT, AND ROBERT; AND TWO SISTERS NEVA, AND THELMA. SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 53 YEARS, FRANCES, WHOM HE MARRIED ON SEPT 9, 1951. A BROTHER, WILLIAM OF FARMINGTON, UTAH. AND HIS FIVE CHILDREN, TWO SONS, DAN II, (DORIS) OF BOARDMAN, RICHARD, (RUTHIE) OF STRUTHERS. THREE DAUGHTERS, THELMA RIST OF LISBON, CATHY MILLERLEILE, OF YOUNGSTOWN, AND SHIRLEY BRAMER, (LARRY) OF BOARDMAN. 13 GRANDCHILDREN AND SIX GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
