Boardman - Dale "Ruffy" Wauschek, 80, died December 21, 2015 in Assumption Village, following a brief illness. He was born March 4, 1935 in Youngstown, and was a 1953 graduate of Wilson High School.
He was employed as a salesman/supervisor for Onyx Inc., for 15 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Dale was a car lover and an avid collector of model classic cars. He was very meticulous with his yard and garden and was a "health nut". He would walk anywhere from 3-5 miles a day for the last 30 years, up until six months ago.
He leaves his wife, Lynda Shook Wauschek, whom he married April 16, 1958; two sons, Ronald (Valeri) Wauschek of Pepper Pike, OH and Scott (Denise) Wauschek of Strongsville; son-in-law, John D'Angelo of Wickliffe, OH; grandchildren, Michael (Jenni) Wauschek, Megan Wauschek, Robbie Wauschek, Alyssa D'Angelo, Nicholas D'Angelo, Emma Wauschek and Kate Wauschek; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Bentley and Carter; sister, Carolyn Sakoman of Minnesota and brother, John (Elizabeth) Ray of Austintown.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Wauschek; his mother, Clarabelle Ray; his step-father, Archie Ray and his daughter, Lisa D'Angelo.
Services will be Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman, with the Rev. David Joachim officiating.
Friends will be received prior to the service, from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
