Dale C Queen

March 29, 1929 — April 30, 2012

Dale C. Queen, 83, found eternal peace Monday, April 30, 2012.

Dale was born March 29, 1929 in Struthers, Ohio to Otis and Myrtle Bell Queen. He is survived by his wife and love of 30 years Carol Riddle Queen; four children Daleen Madden, Darrin Queen, Diane Pajot, Douglas Queen; four step-children, Butch, Kenny, and Gregg Riddle, Julie Winningham; eleven grand children; nine great-grand children and two sisters, Betty Lower and Marinell Szalaj. Dale has been the loving strength for all his family and friends.

A tireless worker committed to helping others, he was one of the founders of the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club wherein he has been an active member for 35 years. Through the joy of classic antique autos the Club raises thousands of dollars annually benefitting children with specialized medical needs. After officially retiring in 1994, Dale found it impossible not to continue to contribute to his community and began working for the Canfield School System where he became a part of the school family and continued to work until last year. As a Christian he lived a life epitomizing the values of his faith; always willing to help others, always with a kind word for everyone, as well as a generosity in service and deeds. Words cannot express the love we have in our hearts for Dale/Dad/Papa Dale/Grandpa... may we all continue in his spirit.

The Queen family thanks the following physicians, Chris A. Knight, Oncologist, Santucci Ricciardi, Internal Medicine and Joseph A. Ambrose, Surgeon, and the staff at the Hope Center for the kindness shown and care given to Dale during his illness. Additionally we thank all the caring individuals with MVI HospiceCare Inc. of Youngstown who made his last days with us comfortable.

Dale's family requests donations be made in his name to the Children's Fund with the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club, c/o Richard Posivik, 1498 Brantford Blvd
Youngstown, Ohio, 44509 or to the Struthers Presbyterian Church Capital Improvement Fund, 110 Poland Ave., Struthers, Oh 44471.

A funeral service will be held Friday, 2:00 PM at the Struthers Presbyterian Church, Struthers. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Only The Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club will gather at the funeral home, Friday, 1:00 PM, to form a procession to the church.
