Cynthia D. Yakubovic, 78, died July 7, 2017 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cynthia was born October 8, 1938 in Youngstown.
She was a 1956 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She attended Youngstown State University, where she was a member of the Tri Sigma Sorority. She worked at Strouss Department Store in the shoe department for many years.
She took pride in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Cynthia was an avid YSU football fan and loved going to the games.
She also enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos with her friends, cooking, traveling, and sharing times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all miss grandma's spaghetti sauce.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman.
She is survived by four daughters, Catherine (Ken) Bagwell of Canfield, Denise (Ron) Kissel of Glen Burine, MD, Cheryl Westfall of Lowellville, and Wendy (Craig) Moffatt of Erie, PA; two brothers, John Robert (Margaret) Boris of Canfield and Charles (Claudette) Boris of Boardman; nine grandchildren, Brian (Brianne) Bagwell, Ross Bagwell, Tanya (Victor) Cruz, Jessica Kissel, Joshua (Kaycie) Westfall, Chad Westfall, and Kimberly, Hannah, and Brooke Moffatt; five great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her beloved husband, David E. Yakubovic, whom she married Sept. 14, 1957, preceded her in death on June 26, 2012,
as did her parents, Michael and Josephine Lunich.
A prayer service will be Tuesday at 10:15AM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. John S. Trimbur officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
Friends and family will be received Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. She showed all of us unconditional love and will remain forever in our hearts.
