Poland - Cynthia Kay Johnson, 62, of Poland, died September 22, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Care Center. Ms. Johnson was born January 26, 1950 in Youngstown, a daughter of Arthur and Agnes Okrucky Johnson.

She was 1968 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and went on to achieve a Master's Degree from Kent State University. She was a Spanish teacher at South Range High School for 35 years, retiring in 2009. Cindy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown where she sang in the choir and was on the church council. She was a member of the OEA and the Mahoning County Retired Teacher's Association. Cindy enjoyed her cats, traveling; and spending ample time taking care of her mother. She was devoted to her family. She is survived by her mother, Agnes Johnson of North Lima; a sister-in-law, Barbara Johnson of Boardman; nephews; Arthur (Susan) Johnson of Chicago and Mike(Molly) Johnson of Columbus, nieces; Amy (Dan) Henry of Boardman and Mollie Johnson of Columbus; three great-nephews, Daniel and Ryan Henry, and Jacob Johnson; and four great-nieces, Olivia, Carly, Gabriella, and Madeleine Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Johnson; and a brother, Arthur L. Johnson Jr.. Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown, Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Larry Klinker officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland and Thursday from 10-10:45AM at the church. Condolences may be sent at www.beckerobits.com .
