Youngstown - Connie F. Roberts, 78 of Youngstown, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Hospice House, with her family at her side. Mrs. Roberts was born October 2, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael and Theresa (Marzano) Santoro, and was a life long area resident.. She attended North High School and worked at Loblaw's, and was a short order cook for several restaurants in the area. She loved traveling to Virginia Beach on vacations with her family and also going on bus trips with her friends to many places. Her husband of 46 years, John "Mike" Roberts whom she married October 29, 1960, died October 16, 2006. She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Diane Roberts of Youngstown, with whom she made her home, Christine (Chuck) Rotz of Poland, and Sandy (Paul) Bindas of Canfield; three grandchildren, Chas Rotz, Christopher Rotz and Paul Michael Bindas; one sister, Mary Jane (Gene) Noday of Youngstown a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Santoro, numerous nieces and nephews, and her three dogs, Boozer, Piko and Barney. Besides her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony "Tony" Santoro, and her nephew, Michael Santoro. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 5-8 and Wednesday from 11:45 - 12:45 pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where prayers will be Wednesday at 12:45 pm. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, with Fr. Charles Poore, officiating. Entombment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville.
