Concetta "Connie" M. Lariccia, 98

Columbiana: Concetta M. Lariccia, 98, formerly of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Windsor House at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana with her loving family by her side.

Concetta, known by her family and friends as "Connie" was born December 10, 1920 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucia (Basceglia) Lariccia.

She graduated from East High and was a lifelong area resident.

Connie started working for her family business, Lariccia Grocery on E. Rayen Avenue in Youngstown for several years and later for Loblaws, Century's and Valu King as a cashier, before retiring in 1982.

Connie was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. She volunteered at Northside Hospital, in the Gift Shop, was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Drives, Todd Children Hospital Blood Drives and for the LPGA. Connie was a member of Local UFCW and Local 880 and the Retirees Auxiliary at Northside Hospital.

She loved to go shopping and traveling, especially to Cyprus and Italy.

Connie is survived by a sister, Amelia "Amy" Marinelli of North Lima; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Connnie was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Vargo and her husband, Joe, Ann Cafaro and her husband Andrew, her brother-in-law, John Marinelli, two brothers, Mike Lariccia and his wife Edith and Ben Laricca and his wife Fran.

There will be a prayer service on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel with Deacon John Terranova and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church, 764 5th Street in Struthers with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Golden String, 16 S. Phelps Street, Youngstown, OH. 44505 or to Christ Our Savior Church at St. Nicholas Church, 764 5th Street, Struthers, OH. 44471 or Special Olympics, 5132 S. Turner Road, Canfield, OH. 44406 in memory of Connie.

Connie was a devoted sister, aunt and friend to all, she will be deeply missed.
