Clara McPherson

Clara McPherson, 92 Boardman- Clara McPherson, 92, died Monday morning at Shepherd Woods. She was born in Kewanee, Illinois January 22, 1912, a daughter of Edward and Ruby Ostman Brain. Mrs. McPherson was Assistant Postmaster in Petersburg and also worked at Central Services at Youngstown Sate University. She was an active member of the YSU Retireeâa�a��s and the Western Reserve Baptist Church for over 70 years. Her husband, Paul McPherson, whom she married July 28, 1934, died April 6, 1995. She leaves one daughter, Jane (Ray) Wright of Columbiana; one son Richard (Della) McPherson of Poland; one brother, Byrl (Grace) Berry of New Middletown; four grandchildren, Scott (Ellen) Osborne of Clarksville, TN, Jenny Osborne of San Francisco, CA, Emily (Scott) Sutton of Columbus, and David McPherson of Columbus; and three great-grandchildren, Luke, Nathaniel, and Joshua Osborne. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vivian Garland and Helen Flowers; and one brother James Brain. Funeral services will be Thursday 11AM at the Western Reserve Baptist Church. Friends may call one hour prior at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. In Lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Rescue Mission in care of the Western Reserve Baptist Church, or planters are being received, which will then be given to Claraâa�a��s dear friends at the Shepherd of the Valley and Shepherd Woods.
