Clara Filbert, 74, of Elm Street died Thursday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mrs. Filbert was born February 9, 1930 in Struthers, a daughter of Stephen and Catherine Granchie Nivert. She was a life-long area resident of Struthers. She was in sales for various companies including Bolotin Draft, Strouss Department Store and the Joseph Horne Company. She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, its Altar and Rosary Society and was a volunteer for the Pioneer Blind Society. Her husband Edward L. Filbert whom she married August 4, 1951 died September 6, 2000. Besides her mother of Struthers, she leaves two daughters, Marilyn (Don) Gilliland of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania and Marie (Richard) Hicks of Suwanee, Georgia; four sons, James (Regina) Filbert and Robert (Janet) Filbert both of Poland, Edward (LuAnn) Filbert of Rome, Kentucky and John (Dina) Filbert of Philpot, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, 10:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
