Clara Lou Allen âa�" 104 Boardman--Clara Lou Allen, age 104, of The Greenbrier formerly of The Commons, died Thursday evening at the nursing home. She was born December 28, 1901 in Chattanooga, TN., a daughter of Joseph & Ora Pearson Henley. She lived in Struthers until moving to Poland in 1933 and to The Commons in 1997. Clara had worked at Lyons Hardware in Struthers, the Five & Ten in Struthers, and was a cafeteria worker for the Poland Union Elementary School. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Struthers, and attended the Margaret Wynn Memorial Baptist Church in Poland. She enjoyed quilting with the First Baptist Church of Struthers and later with the Woman of the Church of God in New Springfield. Her husband James R. Allen, whom she married February 17, 1926, died May 14, 1989. She is survived by five daughters, Annis (Chester) Queen, of North Lima; Ruth (George) Kmetz, of Boardman; Beverly (Rudy) Wyatt of Poland; Emilie Denmeade of The Villages, Fl.., and Janet Gething, of Westerville, OH; three sons, Jack (Mary Ann) Allen and Robert (Mary Kay) Allen all of Seven Lakes, NC, and James (Georgiana) Allen, III of Cary NC; 21 Grandchildren, 28 Great-grandchildren, and two Great-Great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Deerfield, Marie Cook, and Alene Peach and one brother, Joseph Henley. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland with Pastor Michael Hooks from the Poland Village Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call Monday, 5-8 PM and Tuesday, 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, P. O.
