Dublin - Claire Ann Musolino, 94, formerly of Geneva Avenue in Struthers, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at The Grand Health & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family.
Claire was born on June 18, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Ciminelli) Carano. She was a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley until moving to Dublin, Ohio several years ago to be closer to her family.
A proud graduate of Campbell Memorial High School in 1948, Claire went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Youngstown State University. She spent more than 20 years teaching elementary school, beginning at St. Nicholas School in Struthers and later at Youngstown Christian School in Youngstown before retiring in the early 1990s.
Claire was a dedicated member of New Life Church where she participated in many church activities. She had a deep love for teaching and was passionate about shaping young minds. Outside of teaching, Claire enjoyed reading, cooking, and staying active by attending CURVES.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Claire is survived by two children, Donna Musolino of Colorado and Anthony J. (Valerie) Musolino of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Marla (Craig) Ruoff, Allan Vrable, Tara (Bill) Thompson, Anthony (Alyssa) Musolino Jr., Talia Musolino, and Santino Musolino; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her sister, Maria Stewart of Dublin, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Besides her parents, Claire was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Anthony Carmen Musolino, whom she married on September 18, 1948, and who passed away on February 16, 2015; as well as her brother, Dominic Carano.
In accordance with Claire’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time. Interment will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery in Poland, Ohio.
