Christian J. Wagner, 54, passed away Tuesday evening, December 31, 2024, at Mercy Health-St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Born on February 13, 1970, in Youngstown, he was a beloved son of Robert and Joelyn Davis Wagner.
Chris was a proud graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Class of 1988. He furthered his education at ITT Technical College, Youngstown where he focused on business management. His career began at Gabriel's, where he dedicated himself to climbing the ranks to become store manager. His journey took him to Portland, Maine, where he worked for the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC). He flourished, quickly rising to the position of intake manager before being promoted to store manager, overseeing 11 stores within the area.
Upon returning to Youngstown, Chris took on the role of manager at the Circle K in Niles. His expertise ultimately led him back to the Salvation Army ARC, where he managed stores from Ashtabula to Dunkirk, NY. After facing physical ailments, Chris retired at the age of 52 and enjoyed peaceful days at his residence in Pymatuning for the last two years of his life.
Chris was known for his insatiable love of sports, impressing all with his phenomenal knowledge of both local and national events. He was a man who embraced life with joy and humor. Chris cherished his moments spent with loved ones, and his deep affection for his family and close circle of friends was evident to all who knew him.
He leaves to carry on his memory his mother, Joelyn Wagner of Poland; two brothers, David (Tammy) Wagner and Brad Wagner, all of Poland; three nephews, Weston (Amber) Wagner of Poland, Andrew (Nicole) Wagner of Fort Mill, SC, and Jonathan (Christina) Wagner of Youngstown; four great-nephews and nieces, Blake, Brooks, Ava, and Adeline Wagner; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wagner, and his brother, Richard Wagner.
Christian J. Wagner will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy will continue through the memories of his family and friends.
Family will receive friends, Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2:30 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 4:30 p.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Poland Boardman Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
In Chris' name, contributions may be made to the Adult Rehabilitation Center at the Salvation Army.
