Struthers - Charlotte Sturgiss, 80, of Struthers, formerly of Lowellville, died Tuesday afternoon at Maplecrest Nursing Home.
Charlotte was born February 2, 1931 in Boswell, PA, a daughter of Wilford and Shirley Humphrey Perkins. She was raised in Morgantown, W.VA and came to the Struthers area in 1954 and to Lowellville in 1956.
A graduate of Morgantown High School, Charlotte was a homemaker and a seamstress.
Her husband John Sturgiss whom she married March 19, 1953 died April 15, 1972; she leaves two daughters, Linda (Gerald) Beight of Poland and Kelly (Joe) Serenko of Austintown; one son, Timothy (Michelle) Sturgiss of Lowellville; one daughter-in-law, Pamela Sturgiss of Poland; half sister, Judy Rawlenski of Slidell, LA; one brother, Wade Perkins of Flint, MI; nine grandchildren, Jason, April, Holly, Carmel, David, Jenna, Tim, Michael and Rebekah; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by her son, David Sturgiss; one sister, Anna Margaret Burke; and two brothers, Darwin and Robert Perkins.
Services will be held Friday, 7:00 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, with Skip Linebaugh officiating. Friends may call Friday from 5:30 until 6:45 PM at the funeral home.
