BOARDMAN - Charlotte "Chickie" Quigley, 70, died Friday morning, June 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by all of her family.
Charlotte, affectionately known as "Chickie," was born January 29, 1944 in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul and Ann Simon Toker.
A 1964 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Mrs. Quigley worked as an educational assistant for the Youngstown City Schools for over 22 years, most recently at Paul C. Bunn School. She was going to officially retire July of this year.
She was very passionate and very involved in her grandchildren's lives. Mrs. Quigley would attend every game and activity they were passionate about and was their biggest cheerleader. She was very dedicated to her family and cherished all of their moments together. Charlotte was always ready for a game of cards with friends and family, and would always win!
Mrs. Quigley also loved to travel especially taking trips in the family camper when the kids were younger. Her favorite trip was to Europe with her husband, Jack.
She was a member of St. Matthias Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, with whom she just celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 18.; two daughters, Nancy (Mark) Yantek of Fairview and Lorie (Daniel) Barber of New Middletown; two sons, David (Kelley Conrad) Quigley of Columbiana and Michael (Kaitlin Vandemark) Quigley of Willoughby; six granddaughters, Sarah and Annie Yantek, Taylor and Nicole Barber, Annaliese and Adalyn Quigley; four grandsons, C.J. Yantek, Zachary Barber, Jack and Ty Quigley; three brothers, Robert (Audrey) Toker, Paul Toker, and John (Alberta) Toker; three sisters, Phyllis (John) Protopapa, Carol (Carl) Testa, and Nancy (Thomas) Pfund; and sister-in-law, Nancy Penk.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Quigley was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, John and Annetta Quigley and a brother-in-law, James Quigley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a. m. at St. Matthias Church in Youngstown.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street, Poland and Monday from 9-9:45am at the church.
The family requests that memorial gifts take the form of contributions in Mrs. Quigley's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
