Charlotte Ruth Cunningham Gunn, 83 Poland- Charlotte Ruth Cunningham Gunn, 83, of 40 The Ledges, died Monday morning at her residence. Mrs. Cunningham Gunn was born April 27, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a daughter of Edward Joseph and Hester Ruth Bozeman Miller. She attended Villa de Chantal in Rock Island, Illinois and graduated from Columbiana High School in Columbiana. Mrs. Cunningham Gunn and her husband Ralph, owned and operated the Cunningham Furniture Store in Lowellville and the Cunningham Funeral Homes in Lowellville and Poland, family owned businesses founded in 1896. An active member of both the Poland and Lowellville communities, Mrs. Cunningham Gunn was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, Poland Garden Club, Poland American Legion Auxiliary Post 247, Friends of the Poland Library and Poland Historical Society. In Lowellville she helped organize and was past president of the Lowellville PTA, and past president of the Lowellville Historical Association where she served on the committee to save the Lowellville Railroad Station. She was also a recipient of the Woman of the Year Award in Lowellville. Mrs. Cunningham Gunn was a Girl Scout Leader and member of the Lake to River Council, a board member of the YWCA, a member of the Youngstown Playhouse Auxiliary, and the Butler Institute of American Art. Her first husband, Ralph Cunningham, whom she married September 8, 1939, died January 27, 1988. Her second husband, Rev. Dr. Hugh Gunn, whom she married August 17, 1991, died June 8, 2002. She leaves three daughters; Suanne Rowe of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Marcia Sieg of Birmingham, Michigan, and Kathleen Paszek of Poland; one sister, Suzanne Perez of Arlington, Virginia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-children and seven step-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husbands, one sister, Muriel Linberg preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at the Poland Presbyterian Church. Friends may call Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at the Cunningham Becker Funeral Home, Poland and Friday, 10-10:30 a.m. at the church.
