Charles B. Weese, 81 Boardman- Charles B. Weese, 81, of 6300 South Ave., died Tuesday morning at his daughterâa�a��s residence on Wingate Road. Mr. Weese was born May 23, 1923 in Glady, West Virginia, a son of Henry and Mollie Catherine Strawder Weese. In 1952 he moved to Girard from Elkins, West Virginia and then to Struthers in 1960. For over 27 years he worked in the hot mill of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube then LTV retiring in 1979. He was also a welder for Johnâa�a��s Ornamental Railing in Youngstown. He was a graduate of Elkins, West Virginia High School where he was a star athlete in baseball and basketball. He played semi-pro baseball in West Virginia. As a young boy he plowed with horses with his grandfather in Glady, West Virginia. He operated a Texaco gasoline station in Elkins. A United States Army veteran, Mr. Weese was a demolition and communications specialist, in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. He also served at Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European Medal, African Medal, Mid-Eastern Theater Medal, American Theater Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church where he was an usher, VFW 3538 and American Legion Post 158. His wife, the former Margaret Louise Sainato whom he married in November 1949 died November 26, 1973. He leaves a daughter, Deborah (Robert) Agee of Wingate Road, with whom he made his home upon leaving the hospital; a son Richard C. (Rose) Weese of Boardman and a sister Ruby Regester of Clarksburg, West Virginia. He leaves five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A sister Virginia Bennett is deceased. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Nicholas Church at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM at the funeral home. VFW 3538 will provide military burial honors and flag presentation at St. John Cemetery following the Mass.
