Charles Henry Prater, 77 Lowellville-Charles Henry Prater, 77, of 6058 Center Road died Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born in Lowellville June 20, 1925, a son of the late Charles Henry Sr. and Myrtle Slimmer Prater. He was a life long area resident. Mr. Prater was a Blacksmith for Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV) for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the New Springfield VFW Post 2799, Youngstown Eagles Post 213, Johnson Club in Hillsville, PA, and the Poland Center Grange Post 2746. Mr. Prater was currently the Auctioneer of the Poland Auction. Besides his wife, the former Ruth Poulson, whom he married May 26, 1947, he leaves, a daughter, Patti(Gene)Havlik of Womelsdorf, PA; two sons, Robert(Judy Cowden)Prater of Poland and John(Janell Bates) of Lowellville; three sisters, Mildred Robinette of Grand Blane, MI., Betty Ditullio of Girard, and Margaret Milligan of Florida; and five grandchildren, Jill and Brian Havlik, Tommy Prater, Alexis Penrose, and Erika Prater. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 10AM at the Cunningham- Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8PM at the funeral home and Wednesday from 9:00-9:45 AM at the funeral home.
