Charles Tatnall Powers, 60

Canfield: Charles Tatnall Powers, 60 of Canfield, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.

Charles was born May 1, 1959 in Youngstown, the son of William Tatnall and Laura Jane (Hughes) Powers.

He graduated from Canfield High School in1977 and Youngstown State University in 1988 with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.

Charles was a Software Developer for Youngstown State University for 25 years, retiring in 2016.

He grew up attending Paradise Church in Canfield.

Charles is survived by his mother, Laura Jane Powers of Boardman; two brothers, William E. (Teri) Powers of Webster, Texas and David B. (Valerie) Powers and a sister, Laura B. (Michael) Joyce, both of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his father, William T. Powers.

Charles was particularly fond of his nieces and nephews Billy (Allison) Powers, Stephen (Hannah) Powers, Laura (Travis) Powers Ayers, Chris (Sondra) Powers, Lynne Powers, Anne Michelle Powers, James Powers, and Kate (Tommy) Williams.

Charles was known as a jack of all trades and had particular fun with cars, music and being a soundman for a local band. He was often relied upon to help with computer issues. He was very loyal to his friends and would always help with a problem.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road in Canfield with Reverend David Parry officiating. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church. A dinner will follow at the church.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512 in memory of Charles.

Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street in Boardman.
