Lowellville - Charles A. Jones, 67, died Monday following a tragic accident with his 1948 Willy's Sedan Delivery Truck affectionately known as "THE BEAST." Charlie was born December 8, 1948 in North Beaver Twp., PA, a son of Evan and Hazel Hawes Jones.
He was a 1967 graduate of Mohawk High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a Real Estate Agent for Cocca Real Estate Agency for many years. Charlie was a proud Vietnam veteran, where he was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Charlie was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed the Monday Night Car Shows in Lowellville and weekly outings to Bogey's Restaurant with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife the former Kathy Frelick, whom he lovingly called "Ralph", and married March 30, 1974; one brother, David (Cathy) Jones of Mt. Jackson, PA; one nephew, David (Kimberly) Jones II of Lowellville; the love of his life, great-nephew, Dakota; one brother-in-law, Paul J. Ritz; special friend Bob Garrett and many friends who where like family. He also leaves his favorite Aunt Edna Amm in Pontiac, IL and her children, Marian, Vivian, Roger, John, Brian, and their families.
Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by step-father, Joseph Ray Jones; step-sister, Betty Ann Muncy; and sister-in-law, Ceil Hudran-Ritz.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11AM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 4-7PM and Saturday from 10-10:45AM at the funeral home.
The family requests donations be made in his memory to the donors favorite charity.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Main ER and CVIC for their special care and the Lowellville Fire and Rescue Squad and neighbors who assisted. Also special thanks to friends who are considered family, Sonya, Chuck, Mark, Lydia, Danis.
