Catherine J. Hoffman

Catherine J. Hoffman, 90 North Andover, MA- Catherine J. Hoffman, 90, formerly of Coblenz Drive, Poland, died Tuesday evening at Holy Family Hospital Metheun, MA. She was born January 1, 1912, in Hamilton, Canada, a daughter of the late Michael and Rose Rukovena. She grew up in the New Springfield area, moving to Poland in 1964. Mrs. Hoffman with her husband was the former owner of the Yankee Barn Antique Shop in New Springfield, and was also part of Main Street Antiques in Columbiana. She was very active in the antique market attending many auctions, and sales. She was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church, and the Poland Garden Club. Besides her husband the late Kenneth E. Hoffman, whom she married September 1, 1939, and who died in 1986, she is survived by two sons: James K. and daughter-in-law Kathleen Hoffman of Boston, MA; Robert A. and daughter-in-law Patricia Hoffman of Greenville, NC; and two grandchildren: Matthew and Rachel Hoffman. She is preceded in death by a sister: Mary Polis and three brothers: Frank; George; and Michael Rukovena. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM, Monday, at the Good Hope Lutheran Church, Boardman. Friends may call 4-7 PM, Sunday, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, and again on Monday from 10-10:45 at the church prior to the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
